It was part of the convent of the Observant Franciscans, founded in 1480 and suppressed in 1848. The complex extended to the south, where the nursing home of the Paganini-Rè foundation has been housed since 1919. The interior of the church is characterized by a partition which divides the space for the faithful from that for the monks. On it is painted a valuable cycle of Renaissance frescoes (ca. 1510), composed of a central crucifixion and 15 panels with stories about Christ’s life and passion.
